With the world changing right before our very own eyes it’s hard not to be overwhelmed with emotion(s). And we’d be foolish to ignore our emotions and also foolish to act on our emotions in a way that is un-productive.

What’s the answer, then?

Well, for me it’s been learning how to allow those emotions to pass through me and then taking inspired action.

It hasn’t always been easy, though. And even though I’ve been learning about emotional intelligence and how to foster a growth mindset, I’m finding that right now I’m being challenged yet again. I can’t imagine how the rest of the world must be feeling.

Hopefully these 5 practices will help you process your emotions, stay grounded and take extra good care of yourself so you can LEAD and take inspired action! We need you now more than ever!

1. S L E E P –

I know, I know… it’s hard with everything going on. But get yourself into a routine. Dim the lights, don’t eat past 8pm, and get into the habit of going to bed every night at the same time. Here are some things that might help you get sleep, Pure Rest, meditating before bed or listening to a bed time story with the Calm App.

2. M E D I T A T I O N –

I used to think meditation was for hippies and was totally woo woo… but you know what? It’s actually backed by science and it works. The reason meditation works is because it helps re-wire our brains and clear out our “head space.” So if you are constantly feeling overwhelmed, anxious, sad, uneasy… meditation might help. Again, the Calm App might help and I also love listening to these Theta Binaural Beats while I work or just lying down relaxing

3. A F F I R M A T I O N S –

Affirmations are positive statements that can help you to challenge and overcome self-sabotaging and negative thoughts. When you repeat them often, and believe in them, you can start to make positive changes. I personally love the ones from LovePoweredCo.

4. E A T – C L E A N –

In the simplest terms, eating clean basically means eating less sugar, less processed foods, staying away from things like alcohol and caffeine and instead eating more whole foods like fruit, vegetables, nuts and beans, a little bit of dairy, meat and fish. When we focus on our deepest desires and doing what feels good in our heart, mind, body and soul – it changes the vibration of energy across our entire body. By focusing constantly on how we can add value to the world and contribute in a positive way – that also helps the vibration of our energy. Remember, Albert Eisntein said it himself “everything is energy.” Our thoughts lead to feelings, our feelings lead to actions and our actions lead to our results. Let us then only focus on positive, productive loving thoughts. It starts there. Sending you all my love.
